Was going to elaborate on one of my activities, but I’m rethinking that now…

i put my resume bc i had more activities /awards/stuff than the common app spaces allowed for

I described TASP and listed college courses

Resum

Did all of you get in?
Baelor, how long was your resume?

Yes, and it was a page and a half (about)

though, once again, if you attach a resume stanford will not look at it, so it is likely that baelor got in without it.

^True. I just attached one anyway.

So… any true suggestions on what I should put? lol

Anything that you think the Admissions Committee should know that isn’t covered in another part of the application. Here is what I put:

"My Freshman year GPA is low primarily because I came from a (very) poor middle school. My local town has a severe shortage of teachers, so more than half of my teachers there did not have a teaching degree. Over the past three and a half year, though, I have developed my study skills and my GPA has improved to a 4.0.

My high school typically only offers AP courses to Seniors, and this year I have taken two of the few AP courses which it does offer in addition to two honors courses and one regular course. Addionally, my high school only allows students to take five courses every year, with rare exceptions allowing for six classes. During my sophomore year, I took six courses so that I could pursue my love of Drama.

At my school we have a Foreign Travel program where half the school travels abroad for a month out of the year. My freshman year I traveled to remote regions of Portugal, my sophomore year I went to South Africa, this past year I traveled to Senegal, and this April I will be traveling to Chile. These travel experiences, including the community service and cultural interactions their incur, have probably influenced me more than anything else to become the person that I am today."

Bobby

What’s the adcom exactly? (sorry lol)

I just added one more award and the fact that I had two more sisters? I don’t think you should attatch anything unless it is really necessary.

How do you know Stanford doesn’t look at resumes? I thought the resume is fine if it’s included in the common app. “additional info. section” but what Stanford doesn’t want or look at is anything supplemental, like a research report, news paper articles, etc.???

Yes, it is a new policy as they have switched to the common app. If you call them they will tell you the exact same thing. If you want to submit something that is not art music ect, you should contact the appropriate department.

What is the admissions committee comprised of? And what exactly do they do?
