A picture of my Texas license plate in the snow up here in the upper Midwest

My essay was about returning home to Texas, so I felt that it fit.

That room with the books is literally a dream come true.

At first I started thinking about all the meaning the photo could have so i tried to be really deep and put a ball of energy in a black void with a quote from Hamlet.

But then I decided I was overthinking it and uploaded a picture of Robert Pattinson. hahah

im a tennis player, and i thought this was cool

I did a picture of bacon, Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in c sharp minor, the brain, and the seal of the Anglican Church.

I scanned a cover of the book I was reading at the time (White Noise).

anyone having trouble viewing their picture from the pdf file?

nvm resolved

What’s the point of uploading a picture as your signature?

^^ not sure I follow

I put a picture of the hammock in my room with a caption because my whole app was about meaning through superficial things.

@emma: I have no idea. Two theories: 1) They’re going to totally overanalyze our choice of picture and see if we should come to Rice (which I think is unlikely). 2) If there is a question about the legitimacy of the application, the picture serves as your electronic signature. I suppose only you would know what you uploaded–it’s more secure than just typing your name.

These are only my theories, though. I really don’t know anything for sure. :)

I uploaded one of my first realistic drawing back when I was in 4th grade.

I uploaded a picture of myself doing a back dive that looks like I’m floating on the air. Supah cool. Aaand the reasoning behind it is because 1) I wrote about how diving is my stress reliever and how I love it and 2) because that’s my favorite dive yippee!

I uploaded a picture from the Big Lebowski.

A picture of Totoro. :)

I uploaded a drawing of Harry Potter. (I’m not an artist, so my Harry Potter was more like the Potter Puppet Pals one.) My CommonApp essay talked about how I love to draw comics, so it kind of fit. My parents were a little bit confused when I told them what I put, but it ended up okay. :)

I think it would be a really fun project if every year, the admissions committee released online maybe 20-30 of their favorite signature pics-anonymously, of course. It’d be interesting to actually see firsthand what some people submitted.

I took a picture of apple, oranges, bananas, lemon, and lime peels…thought it was punny…now I am not sure.

Mine didn’t end up in the box. It was a separate page after my essays.
