What differentiates CAS from the other colleges/LACs/Ivys?

For the essay… I mean I get that there are more humanities requirements and you can pursue a wider variety of subjects… but is saying that stuff enough (doesn’t that sound generic, as if it could be used for any other LAC-type outside of Cornell)?

Hope this doesn’t sound mean, but my guess is, for your essay, they are interested in your ideas about that, not mine.

Suggest think about why, if admitted to Cornelll CAS, two other CAS depts within universities, and two LACs (eg), what would make you (or someone else) choose Cornell.

If you can’t think of some reasons you would, perhaps you shouldn’t apply there.

@awesomekid‌ lets just think…ill help u brainstorm hehe:

  • world class resources
    -location
    -oppurtunities
    -specific program details
    -interdisciplinary oppurtunities
-maybe like internship oppurtunities and specific study abroad programs(or i know sometimes theres NYC programs)
    -atmosphere

stuff like that lol and dont be afraid to sugar coat things

You really need to do your research and let this come through in your essays. Cornell is looking for the student who has the right fit. You don’t want to write a generic essay. If Cornell is your top choice, then you need to delve into their specific programs, classes etc. in order to show that you have done your homework.
