What distinguishes UCLA?

Who pays sticker price for anything these days, anyway? ;)

Saturn car owners?

And let’s be honest, they’re not the brightest car shoppers on Earth. I man, c’mon, they’re not even made in the States anymore (and that used to be their big selling point).

themegastud, I’m not trying to discourage anyone from going to USC, and I don’t think anyone that is seriously considering any of the schools we’re talking about are shocked when I post the tuition price from the school’s website. Here are the facts, as I know them. USC DOES cost four times as much as UCLA for the basic tution and fees. Does that mean everyone will pay four times more at USC? No, of course not. At the time, there are many UCLA students who don’t pay anything or pay very little after financial aid. You can’t just say, “USC is actually not 4 times as much because they give out financial aid,” because guess what, so does UCLA! I agree, you should wait until you see your finacial aid packages before you make your decisions. Either way, they are both fine school and you really can’t go wrong.

My Saturn was made in the United States. And yes I am a Saturn owner and I love my car very much, and I think it honestly loves me back. However it should be noted that before my Saturn, I was driving a 1992 Ford Tempo, so just about any car on Earth would have been a stark improvment. Just wondering, but where do they make them now?

From what I’ve read in the papers, a lot of the Saturns are now being built in Poland by Opel. Either way, there’s a lot of talk of moving a lot of the operations to Eastern European locales to save money.

I think it’s a good idea, personally, but it hurts Saturn’s little “USA Pride” image that they built up for so long.

ironically, it costs me less to attend USC than it did for me to attend uci.

“Look, I understand many of you have excessive pride in your alma maters and that’s fine. But people come on to this board looking for information and some of you are misleading them. Try learning mroe about the financial aid process instead of simply cracking a Princeton Review, pasting in numbers, and telling posters that’s actually what they’d be paying.”

amen! very nice post! I’ve found that sometimes, posts can be a little misleading, so I like it when people go out and tell the honest truth about their schools.

i’m not sure if anyone has said this, but on my UCLA campus tour, my tour guide told me that if the president of the united states were to come to any part of the west coast and fall suddenly ill, he would be rushed immediately to the UCLA medical center…even if he was located on USC campus.

What distinguishes UCLA?

UCLA is listed under CC Top Universities, while USC is not.

;) ;)

Even on College Confidential, UCLA is in a better location than USC.
