What do boys talk about?

“Spider Man with a laser gun”

Love it! Perfect explanation!

Don’t forget, there is always WOW.

I told my parents nothing as a teenage girl. I was very private and my husband was the same. Our teenage son chats with us about everything.

As adults, I remain very private (in person!) with the exception of a few lifelong friends and my husband is more open with more friends.

I think people are just different.

I would like to thank keile, FiddlinEcon and GeekNerd for their supremely elucidating contributions to this thread.

My S could be the OP’s son, or son of any of the other parents with the similar reports (especially love the college roommate who does not know his bff is a father and father-to-be).

My S says I “talk too much.” He also doesn’t care for any IM longer than half of one line.

poetsheart, what not Finnish metal bands? That’s what my son talks about!

I’m very familiar with these exchanges, mathson barely knew his roommates name.

“Where’s he from?”
“I can’t remember, but his parents aren’t living there.”
(Roommate turned out to be from Pakistan with parents living in Dubai.)
They talk about computer programming and video and computer games.

The guys at the gym talk about motorcycles, sports and politics.

Metal bands are the one thing I do know my son talks about (he’s in one). Other than that, I think most of his discussions revolve around topics that make his sister cringe!

Now that the ladies have confirmed what they already knew about the things that boys and men talk about, pray tell me, what did women get from breaking into men’s clubs (not that type that offer dance performances) ?

When I am with my guy friends (and girl friends for that matter) the topics always revolve around a variation of sex or race, or both.

Maybe boys don’t talk but they might be thinking, “OMG, I’m so glad I’m not standing here alone.”
