What do colleges check on your application form?

What do colleges check on your application form? For instance, if someone said that they started a company during high school, then would the college check this? If so, how? Also, same goes with anything you can think of; how do colleges check? And, WHAT do they check?

I’m not trying to do anything unethical; just wondering what methods they use, so that I am prepared for any checks, etc. :slight_smile:

<p>Just in case my high school has, for instance, some miscommunications? It isn’t really prepared for US college checks, etc… don’t ask about it :rolleyes:</p>

<p>I’m in Canada by the way, if you don’t notice; probably only about 0.5% of my school applies to US colleges.</p>
