What do I do?

I have recently been diagnosed of acute myocarditis and the doctor suggests that I rest for about 6 months and take precaution in all my actions. annoying thing is that I was diagnosed of this problem in Janurary meaning that I have submitted the applications for most of the schools i want to attend. UCs mainly…
Since I am currently living in Taiwan, U.S. is indeed a little bit far…and I was wondering if I should stay for another year…but what can I do with my UC applications?! Is there some way to extend my applications because I really dont want to re-write another essay for my UC application because I spent so much time from summer till December in 2011 writing it… What I mean is that are there any ways that will have the UCs reserve my spot so I can re-apply again next year due to medical conditions? any suggestions or any comments?!
Please help! and a big thanks to you all

I read some stuff about deferred entries for UC…I don’t know if it applies to every school and I would like to have a brief on how it works and all that…thank you so much!!

Most colleges allow deferral for a gap year. I saw someplace that UCs don’t but am not sure. Your situations would be a good reason for a college/university who accepts you to allow you to defer 1 year. Hopefully, someone who knows more will chime in.

Follow your doctors recommendations and please take food care of yourself. Best wishes for a full and speedy recovery.
