What Do I Do?

I am a freshman at Concordia College, in Moorhead, MN, and I’m worried about GPA. Here’s my stats:

Major: Social Studies Education
Minor: English
GPA 1st Semester: 2.1
GPA 2nd Semester: 2.7
Extracurriculars: Student Government Association, Inter-Hall Council, Choral Program, Academic Affairs Commission

I switched my majors from Vocal Music Education to Social Studies Education, and there is one F first semester in that major. I failed Music Theory, which is not in the Social Studies Ed. program. Is this awful? Is it possible to recover? Since all these classes are generals, do these matter as much? Will this affect my education future?
