What do I have to do?

I am a freshman, and I am someone who performs better with a goal. Therefore, I was wondering, how well do I have to do in order to get into schools, such as U of Mich, UPitt, Colorado Mines, U of Wash, etc, etc.I have always been a well performing student (not to brag). I will presumably go for something scientific, but you never know. I took a practice SAT/ACT test, getting an 1100/1600 on the new SAT, and a 24 on ACT. Anyways, what would be an ideal range of weighted GPA and SAT scores for me? I know this is an unusual question. Thanks

It’s not unusual. Google the “common data sets” of some colleges that interest you. Look at section C, where the stats of enrolling freshmen are tabulated. There, you’ll get a rough idea of what those students look like. It’s a rough measure but the data is useful.

I suggest you look at the common dataset for each school. It will show you the 25th and 75th percentiles for the ACT and SAT scores of enrolled students along with the average unweighted GPA. This information will give you some targets to shoot for as you progress through HS.

Aim for the 50th and above percentile for test scores and above the average GPA for the best chances.

Just google: common dataset for school… Here is the CDS for Colorado School of Mines.
