<p>I currently have a debit card in hawaii and me and my parents were gonna use that to transfer money if i needed it for purchases in portland. Unfortunately, the bank I have is not in portland. So my parents told me that I have to create a new bank account in a portland bank just in case. So what important documents would i need to create a bank account?
and what other ways is there to get money from my parents if i need it?</p>
<p>A valid photo id. Like a military ID card or a drivers license, address and proof that you live there, a bill, lease form. (Not sure what an equivalent to those would be if you live on campus, but i’m sure at one point you’ll have to sign some official agreement saying you take responsibility of that space, use that document)</p>
<p>And thats its. Walk up with a minimum deposit, which can be anywhere from 1-100$ depending on the bank, and ask to open a bank account.</p>
