<p>I’m a rising college freshman who was fortunate enough to have been accepted to Harvard, and I just want to get a little background information on where my head should be for the next four years. I’m not really sure what my goals are right now, but a job in the academia has always appealed to me (humanities). That being said, what should I focus on during my college years? How should I spend my time academically (or extracurricularly?) What does it take to get into a great PhD program in the humanities?</p>

<p>Get to know your profs REALLY well and NETWORK.</p>
<p>Get a good GPA.</p>
<p>That’s all there is to it. Other than those, just have fun in college!</p>
