i am currently a junior in high school and want to know what i will need to improve to be able to get some sort of scholarship so that maybe i can attend northeastern.

weighted gpa: 4.3
will take 3 AP classes by end of high school
i took the SATs at the end of sophomore year just to see what it’s like and I got a combined score of 1850.
I am in Link Crew and on Prom Committee. I write for my school’s newspaper. I did Environmental Club for one year, too. Also, I am in the process of starting a new club at my school. I participated in a selective choir in school for all four years.

chances? scholarships?
thanks in advance!

also, i played on JV volleyball for 9th and 10th grade. and am doing golf (club sport) for 11th and 12th. i also will qualify for National Honors Society next year.

one more thing, my guidance counselor said that based on my 9th and 10th grade scores, i am in the top 7 to 4 percent of my class.

I believe that Northeastern will calculate your scholarship chances based on the SAT out of 1600, not the 2400. I would say you need to raise that SAT score - it’s at the low end; you might get in, but you might not get a scholarship.

Search the old threads for the ‘accepted’ thread from last year or - better yet - wait for this year’s to compare your scores to those who got in and got some sort of merit aid.

Good luck!
