Besides parties, what are some fun recreational things that kid do at Wesleyan? How do students interact with the town?

The Wesleyan Film Series is probably the most well attended non-alcoholic, weekly event on campus. Entirely student run, it is widely regarded as one of the best in the country. It’s really a canon of some 100 of the best and most important American and European films ever made, with a few recent releases (often with the filmmaker doing Q&A) thrown in. It gets rotated every four years so that you are never in danger of seeing the same film twice. The Film Series alone is probably worth a minor in film appreciation.

On weekends people do anything and everything. There is no one “typical” activity, except, as circuitrider mentioned, the very popular Film Series. There are athletic contests, concerts, parties, people hang out in the dorms, grab food on Main Street, go to a local pond, apple picking in the fall, sledding in the winter, etc. Always stuff to do.
