Title says it all…

Strong SAT means you have strong reasoning and analytical skills. Weak AP scores mean you’re not good at that subject.

you’re smart but lazy as ****

But what if my math and physics SAT 2’s were strong…but my APs were not (scores only in the 3 to 4 range)?

3/4 is not a bad score

You might have a crappy teacher?

What he said. If you got a 3 or 4 on the AP exam, it could mean that you’re not so strong in the advanced levels of that subject… or it could mean that your teacher didn’t cover as much as they should have. Hard to know.

You have a bad teacher and you aren’t self-motivated to teach yourself.

Or that you’re lazy or not ready for college-level work…

I got As on all my AP classes, but I did get two B+ on second semester of AP Physics and Stats…Yeah I guess I do have crappy teachers. I really wish they were much better, but isn’t it wrong to blame teachers?

I remember doing pretty well in the classes and whatnot.

I think 3s and 4s are bad for the Ivy league leveled colleges I’m applying to.

Maybe you didn’t have time to study for everything. Or you retook the SATs…?

Bad teacher/lack of comprehension of a subject at a higher level/lack of self-studying ability.

I had AP teacher who didn’t even know their own subject, and I studied by myself and got a 5. A 3/4 is a good score but not very good for Ivy League. That being said, AP scores do not have a significant influence in admissions so don’t worry too much. The worst thing that could happen is that they will see your school has some grade inflation and your GPA will not be viewed as positively.
