What do strong SATs with weak AP scores represent? [Repost]

Sorry about this guys, but I want to lay down my scores to get a better sense of my standing.
I’m still confused about all this.

SAT (2240): C: 690 M: 800 W: 750
SAT 2 Math lv 2: 790

SAT Physics: 720

I got all A’s in my AP classes (except B+s on the second semester of physics and stats…first semester I got As)

AP Physics B, AP Stats: 4
AP Bio, AP Calc AB, AP English, AP Euro: 3

(The AP Calc AB i got a low score for a good reason…I explained that on my app)

As far as college admissions are concerned, those AP scores won’t break you. In fact, you don’t even have to report your AP scores if you don’t want to. As far as getting credit for taking the exam, however, I’m not sure exactly how much credit you’d be able to get (depends on which universities you’ve applied to).

^I just listed my scores down on the common app. I didn’t officially report the scores like I did for the SATs though.

Oh, and I’m applying to the elite/Ivy-League leveled colleges…Princeton, MIT, Stanford, etc.

buuuumppp…

Not to be mean, but I’ve never seen someone with as good of a resume as you get so many 3’s… I’m not sure what to make of it. My AP scores weren’t all that good either (three 4’s and one 5) but I don’t think colleges put too much stock in these.

^Right, which is a good thing I guess because high SATs would mean a high (somewhat accurate) degree of intellect.
With high grades…and SAT subject tests, it could mean I had sucky teachers?

Honestly, I’m a person who learns well from a good teacher/lecture/hands on…self teaching is not something I prefer.

I got A’s in AP USH, AP Calc AB and AP Lit. I got 4’s on all the exams. I got brutalized in AP Chem and had to scrap for an A- (the highest grade in the class) and I got a 5 no sweat. I do think it has something to do with teaching and being challenged while in the class.

Well I’d just like to let you know having high sat scores and low ap scores is much better than the other way around. Colleges use the SAT much more as an indicator of how well you can perform in that college and thus it is much more important to admissions. Some schools, such as Columbia, don’t even have a section in their app for you to list your ap scores.
