I know there is a lot of controversies over what standardized test scores prove. Can I get some opinions? I have a 4.0 but could only get a 29 ACT score. I feel like anybody could do very well if it wasn’t for time constraints. During the test, especially reading and science, my mind cannot focus because I get very anxious. Do you believe kids with higher scores will be more successful?

I think that they will be generally more successful when it comes to getting scholarships and being accepted to more prestigious colleges. If I were you, I’d work a lot of practice tests to help ease your anxiousness, then retake the test. Once you become more comfortable with the test itself, you’ll be able to perform better.
