What do the interviewers do after the interview?

Hello there!
I just finished my interview for Princeton a few days ago. I’m curious as to what the interviewer does now. Is there a form they fill out? What kind of questions are on it? Anybody know anything? The anxiety is killing me. Thanks in advance!

They fill out a form on the student and submit it to the college.

And in the case where they REALLY hope the applicant is admitted, they then sit back frustrated that their input has so little impact on the final decision.

Fantastic! Anybody have any more… helpful… information?

Unfortunately, I think that is what happens. It is a pretty small part of your file as not everyone can interview.

First, I think you’re being a little obsessive about this issue. What good would knowing the exact steps the interviewer takes to file their report do? How does this “help” you?

Second, @sherpa was only trying to relieve some of your tension by highlighting the fact that interviewers have virtually no impact on decisions except if you came across as a complete jerk.

I completely agree, but this might satisfy the OP’s obsession. Interview reports are in the form of a narrative. I’m sure that 80% of applicants receive stellar reports, but it seems like quite a few do not. Please read the example reports from Yale’s Alumni School Committee, especially the reports for JEROD, HANS, RICHARD, and THERESA, where the interviewer does not recommend the candidate for admission. http://asc.yale.edu/samplereports. I imagine a negative report has more impact than a positive one.
