What do they mean by "UC Transferable???"

I recently moved down to CA from Washington State. I am now in the process of enrolling at a local CC. There, I will be enrolled until I can obtain IGETC and complete my intended major pre-reqs.

I took a lot of classes at a CC (and 19 at a 4-year) while I was in Washington. I have already made sure that won’t be exceeding the ‘max units’ for Berkeley, UCLA, and Irvine. But my question is:

What do the UCs consider as “UC-Transferable” units??

(note: all of my WA courses were 100 level and over with no remedial math classes, etc.)

But still, I am not sure which courses will all be considered “transferable.” I know you cannot give me a specific answer without looking over my transcripts, but what are some general rules of thumb for classes that are considered “UC Transferable??”

You’d probably receive better responses if you posted this in the UC Transfer sub-forum. Since these classes were taken in a different state, you should probably call Cal, UCLA, and Irvine. I hope you saved your syllabi.

This is a toughie. I was in a similar situation, and all of the UC representatives I talked to from UCLA and Berkeley told me to look up their campus’ catalog and read the course descriptions. If your class is similar in content, it should transfer.

I know this is awfully vague, but this is the only answer I was given. Hope this helps!

^Yep, that’s the best answer you’ll get. Sorry–I’m in the same boat myself.
