<p>It’s HUGELY variable. I think it would be a good idea to concentrate on one country (or even continent!) and look up the criteria on the web-sites of the schools you are interested in.</p>

<p>It’s all about grades in the specific subject you are applying for or related (no minors. You have to specificy the subject you are applying for, in effect your major, when you apply. To switch you would usually have to drop out and start again). ECs are not even mentioned. For top schools there is also an interview.</p>
