Not really. If I fly to Auckland but my luggage goes to Oakland, a Tile is not going to help me find it. This device - Pebblebee - only has a few hundred feet range. There’s no GPS.
Sounds like it’s good for someone looking for something in their house that they can’t lay hands on. Maybe an absent-minded child? Friend?
I’m no longer disappointed at what I receive at the office parties . This year, we set a price limit of $50. The gift to me maybe cost $10-12. E.g., a water bottle for gym, which I gave away the next day. My gift was a Pendleton weighted blanket. The office manager, who ,is on a perpetual diet, received a bag of chocolates. Not a variety, so I’m sure she will pass it on. I enjoy planning and shopping for gifts, far more than receiving. I bought myself 2 gifts, and wore them when I met up with my g/F s today.
The tile would be an item I’d give away if I had no use for it, but someone I know would enjoy.
Nicest gift was photos from my son and DIL.
I never expect to receive anything I would really like. I am happy if i get something to regift that I know a friend might like.
We have bought themed socks: Ruth Bader Ginsburg (https://www.amazon.com/Maggie-Stern-Stitches-March-Socks/dp/B07NQQ4FVZ) and a whole range of powerful women (https://www.amazon.com/Maggie-Stern-Stitches-Powerful-Cotton/dp/B07RF8L6YM/ref=pd_cp_197_3/146-8995842-7180405?_encoding=UTF8&pd_rd_i=B07RF8L6YM&pd_rd_r=653fe44f-a78e-4a78-b2e1-8dd1b93d2425&pd_rd_w=w8cTd&pd_rd_wg=9mjTc&pf_rd_p=0e5324e1-c848-4872-bbd5-5be6baedf80e&pf_rd_r=XTWP1QNYY4G88PDCGY29&refRID=XTWP1QNYY4G88PDCGY29). The socks have pithy sayings on the bottom. People seem to love them. There is also a Gandhi one, I think.
My wife also likes Bombas socks.
More generally, lots of her friends like plants and gourmet food. Dehydrated tomatoes soaked in good olive oil appear to be a highly valued gift.
Just got home from our family gift swapping that was a lot of fun. Our limit is around $50. I am thrilled as I got a food saver contraption that I can use to preserve the Costco food we buy. My niece was super excited getting a warm throw and pillows. Other items were wine chillers and electric corkscrew, a pile of new books, a cutco knife, Polaroid camera, wireless chargers and travel bathroom cases.
Contractors often give me gift baskets and food stuffs. My favorite is fancy olive oil/balsamic vinegar sets.
