We buy raspberries, Fage yogurt, dried cherries, maple syrup, OJ, Cheerios, multigrain crackers, and cat litter at Costco … best prices, for sure! Every so often, I find a great deal like the Swarovski annual ornament I recently bought -and the Khombu boots I picked up last week. And the rotisserie chicken is a great meal to pick up when I work late!

Kirkland brand: high-thread-count Egyptian cotton sateen sheet sets that are crisp and smooth and come out of the dryer wrinkle-free-enough-for us, Toscano olive oil, organic olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt grinder, Italian herbs, men’s cotton dress shirts, TP, boutique-size tissue boxes.

Pierogis, croissants, bagels, cat litter, dog beds, gloves (the sport-type gloves are great for biking or running), Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus, Cover Girl Mascara, batteries, electronics (tv, phones, cameras), underwear, socks, thermal layers, pecans, walnuts, pine nuts, oxyclean, windex, Dave’s killer bread (even though Dave was recently arrested after a crazed rampage), fresh-baked Italian-type bread.

Romaine lettuce, avocados; tomatoes, berries, and many other fruits and vegetables when the price and quantity are right, pineapples. Peaches and nectarines were amazing this summer.

Amy’s frozen Palak paneer and Mattar Paneer combo pack, Taste of India’s shelf-stable Channa Masala and Madras Lentils (delicious and quick), Morningstar Farms frozen veggie burgers and veggie sausage patties. Ghiradelli brownie mix (I know a caterer who uses this). Sometimes canned black beans, garbanzos, peaches, pasta. Black Tellicherry peppercorns, vanilla.

I just bought raw fish (which is a popular appetizer in HI), and paid for it with my $25 gift card that I got for finally upgrading my membership and letting H join as well. I also bought their huge $5.99 pumpkin pie and we always get cases of rice milk there. Just bought a Roomba for a friend as well. They have reasonably-priced gift cards, $100 value for $80 cost at nice restaurants that we like.

Darn, I forgot to look for the restaurant cards today. We did pick up the huge $5.99 pumpkin pie. Four of us ate from it, and there is still 2/3 left.

We got a decent deal on socks for DS. Also stocked up up grated cheese (parmesan and cheddar), sending extras to freezer and home with DD.

I had to run by our local Costco to get gas (closest gas station to my house :)), and ended up going into the store to get steak for dinner. Walked out with a $99 down comforter and a cart full of LED rope lights in addition to the steak. BTW, the Hunter boots are almost history! Only 3 measly boxes were left out of what used to be a huge pile.

Dang, bought the pie but forgot to bring it to the party tonight. Will have to try to distribute it and see who will help us eat it. My mom, H & kids love it, so it should be fine.

Put this on the “good buy” thread but thought I’d share here as well :

Two good buys at Costco today.
One, the Head running gloves mentioned on another thread here - $12.99- yeah! Great for any cold weather runners/walkers:

Mine are black/pink trim- this pic makes them appear fleecy - they are not at all.http://t.costco.com/Head®-Women’s-Digital-Sport-Running-Glove---BlackPink.product.100086227.html

Then, IMO,a great buy - women’s Levi jean jacket , medium wash, nice and soft - $9.97!!! Limited sizes in the medium wash, lots of sizes and quantity in the dark wash. I thought that was a steal.
Here’s a dark wash one : http://smallclosetstyle.■■■■■■■■■■/post/47591047180/why-yes-i-did-buy-this-jacket-at-costco-levi

Darn it! I almost bought those gloves for my sister 2 hours ago, but they seemed really long in the fingers. They were VERY cozy though…now I wish I’d gotten them.

Oh well…I need to go back anyway. I don’t think they charged me for one of my items. I’m going to have DH double check that I’m reading the receipt correctly and then go take it back.

I was dreading having to PARK there just to return/rebuy the item, but if I get the gloves that will make me feel better about it :-).

AllThis, there were different sizes of the gloves and some were women’s and some were men’s - be sure you check that maybe it will help with sizing. One of the Bly small things n my is my hands and they fit me great"

AllThis - I’m surprised you got out door if they didn’t charge you for something. I was turned back earlier this month because they didn’t charge me for something - they are supposed to count items. I didn’t notice it when I checked out.

Ok… we finally finished the pumpkin pie the other day. (It was not our only pie, but it was huge and was around the longest).

I mentioned this in another thread, but thought I’d drop it here too. We just booked a vacation through Costco Travel. I’d priced it out separately and through a few other vendors (AmEx, AAA) Costco came in either at the lowest or within $100 for the flight plus hotel but came with a couple of nice add-ons. One thing I couldn’t see as I was trying to compare the final number was trip insurance so I called. They can’t sell it directly during the booking but they partner with someone & once you have a booking number you can purchase it. Get this: $32/person. AAA trip insurance for those dates & the same trip was around $150/person. Another value from Costco!

Can’t remember which thread I saw it on, but several people were talking about the Head fleece-lined gloves. I saw them today, and otherwise wouldn’t have paid attention, but I picked them up and tried them on. I think around $12.99 or so, so I got a pair. It also didn’t hurt that, when I took my dog out for a walk yesterday in 15° weather, my leather gloves weren’t keeping my fingers exactly warm.

CC threads are responsible for a fair boost in the economy I think. :). I bought the Jead gloves as well!!

I booked cruises through Costco. They are the same price as buying direct, but you get value added things, like on-board credit.

The best way is to book through the cruise line and then transfer your booking to Costco.

How does that work, lerkin?

Colorado_mom,

Every cruise line has information on how to transfer bookings to travel agents. You need to pay attention to time period during which you are allowed to transfer bookings (for example 60 days after initial booking).

Since travel agents are required to offer the same prices as buying direct, you can certainly buy directly from travel agent. But I like to have control over my bookings as long as possible. This is because when there is a price drop, instead of calling travel agency and relying on them to process adjustments, you can call direct cruise line. The same for the cabin switching when the cabin you covet opens up.

To find out what perks Costco offers, you need to look at each particular cruise on Costco’s website. Costco perks can be combined with cruise line perks (if available).

Usually the perk is a substantial on-board credit. I think it is about 75% of Costco’s commission they get from cruise line.

Dredging this thread up because I can’t stand all the bad news out there!

Also, I learned about the delicious “sweet kale salad” from this thread and now I’ve found “Asian chopped salad” at Costco. It’s by Taylor, the same brand that sells the bags of brussels sprouts. It has mostly shredded cabbages, but also cilantro, a little bag of goodies including won ton strips, almonds, cashews, and sesame seeds, and a delicious ginger-soy dressing. Needs more goodies though. My girls like it more than the sweet kale salad.

I didn’t see it the last time I was at Costco so let me know if you find it.

Check the good buy of the day thread for some of my Costco online finds! Dockers pants for Mr. B, Clinique moisturizer for the kiddos, and some Kerastase shampoo for me. :)

I was in today to buy contact lens for D2 since she doesn’t have a Costco membership (so we’re having them shipped to her). Because we bought a year’s worth, I got a $30 cash card to use in the store… which I promptly did.
