I’m getting ready to order some solar shades from through Costco by Bali. Has anyone done this?

I just ran in for a gift card and came out with a Vitamix 6300 blender. I had asked for one for Christmas but they didn’t have it at Christmas. Since I returned most of my Christmas gifts I decided to grab it. Does anyone want to share any favorite recipes that they make with their machine?
And what are “solar shades” please. I’m not familiar with that term.
This made me laugh out loud. Isn’t Costco wonderful?
Does anyone have experience with costcos down pillows? We need several new pillows, and I’m thinking of buying them from Costco. Thanks
I bought the two pack of memory foam pillows we were all talking about here on CC last spring (?) or so. They were a 2 pack for $9.99 - crazy cheap! I have loved mine but have noted as of late that it seems to be getting a little lumpy - wondering if it’s breaking down? Still if I get a year out of a pillow - actually 2 - for $9.99 , I’m pleased with that.
The Kirkland calcium chews are on sale for $8.99 for 180. The same thing sells for $20-22 on Amazon.
@familykCT, they are shades (roller blinds really) that are specifically made to block the sun’s light and heat. They usually will tell you a number, 5% or so, and the smaller the number is the less light they let through. Sometimes they are actually a smoky colored plastic rather than cloth.
I ordered mine, all custom sizes and different fabrics, and to my shock they were shipped the very next day! They arrived when I was away for the holidays but I arranged for a friend to pick them up. I’ve hung them now and they look great but the proof will be in the summer with how well they may block the strong southern sun exposure. Costco/Bali had a very good selection but there are other places online to look, like here - https://www.theshadestore.com/window-treatments/product-line/solar-shades
1214mom- h likes the down pillows from Costco. I like a thinner pillow but I think I am unusual in that I don’t like a pillow till it is worn out and almost flat yet I don’t like a flat foam pillow. I am constantly in search of the perfect pillow.
Yesterday bought 805 beer from Firestone Brewing Company. I don’t know if this is a local item. I also like to buy different wines from the Local wine region. I also bought the week before several bottles of Ca olive oil. Also bought mixed bag of different color peppers.
We had always liked the Costco down pillows but our local store hasn’t had them for some years. We bought ours from Sam’s Club because we couldn’t get them from Costco.
Has anyone ever bought flooring from Costco? I admit I haven’t looked very closely on that aisle but my husband said he would re-do our horrible linoleum kitchen floor. My husband will most likely install it.
Costco down pillows here were names Pacific something & I love them, bought them for my kids one Christmas 10+ years ago and we are still using them.
We bought wood flooring from Costco and my wife installed it in our basement.
^Pacific Down – we love their pillows which we purchased at Costco. Haven’t looked to see if they still have them lately. I just looked at costco.com and there are 3 that show up but they are much more expensive.
We bought a Vitamix 6300 blender also.
We bought tires several times there in the past.
We bought some over-the-counter medicine (like Probiotic) there instead of CVS.
We actually visit Costco infrequently. We think it is too crowed there, especially its parking lot. Also, our family is rather small now. We do not need to buy a large volume of anything.
We love their not-so-healthy but really cheap pizza, etc.
If you guys don’t mind me asking, how much are they selling the Vitamix for?
If you need tires, they are a competitive price. We also get great prices on glasses and contacts. That makes the membership worth it. Their multi-pack of sunscreen every spring gets us one each for our vehicles and the house, with an extra or two left.
@acollegestudent, I think Vitamix 6300 cost was $499 when we bought it, if I remember correctly.
I’ve bought two sets of tires now at Costco. Their prices are competitive and service is good.
$500 is a good price fof that model vitamix! I was surprised with a (different model) Vitamix for Christmas but have been hoping for one for awhile. They were doing a demo for the 6300 in the Costco I go to before Christmas and I intentionally avoided looking because I didn’t want to see what I didn’t think was a possibility!
As much as I love Costco I’ve stopped buying their tires. It’s always a 2+ hour wait when we went back for the free rotations. I’d rather pay a bit more at the local family owned place and be able to get those rotations done in about 30 minutes.
Argh! Costco stopped carrying my favorite underwear. It was a great cotton blend. All they have now is the modal/micro fiber stuff. I’m going to have to restart the great underwear search.
