What do you buy at Costco?

i think they take refund & or exchange of the potato chips

They’ll never make it back there … :stuck_out_tongue:

The pumpkin was trying to keep you from eating junk!

Better than a watermelon/large carton of eggs combo.

Oh my. The vision of the mess and the smell is intense. And I can happily attest to the fact that the damage to the potato chip was minor.

The pumpkin is so big it takes up most of the landing by the door!

I stopped a few blocks from Costco because I felt something shift in the trunk and I was worried it was the vodka. Phew, only the eggs…

We just bought $97 worth of merchandise at Costco, but only paid $5 after using our annual refund! Not bad!

Was someone saying earlier that you could swipe any visa and get the refund?? Even visa/debit? I haven’t seen anything like that…

I believe AFTER the March 2016 changeover from AmEx to Visa, you WILL be able to use any Visa at Costco. At the moment, the only non-AmEx and non-Costco cards they accept are debit cards of all kinds.

As I understand it, the Visa will work similarly to the way Amex does now. If you are a Costco business member, you get 2% from Costco on any purchase made at Costco no matter what you used to pay for it. Additionally, you will get a check from Costco-branded Amex for 1-3% of any purchase, regardless of where you made it (so that’s double dipping if you make purchases at Costco, lol!). So we get 2 checks - one from Costco and the other from Costco Amex.

I put every bill possible on my Amex to get the maximum rebate from them! Of course, I pay the account off every billing cycle.

So if you buy $100 of stuff at Costco, you will get $2 from Costco. If you use Costco Amex, it will give you $1 on the top of that. If you paid with cash equivalent or another Amex, you only get $2 from Costco.

Last year, we got $1000 or so in rebates from Amex (Mr. travels on business a lot!). Brought the check to Costco, paid for my groceries, and got $900 back in cash! Not points, ca$$$$h. Sweet. The check from Costco was much smaller, but still nice!

So it can be any Visa, and not just a Costco Visa?

And holy crap… what all did you buy at Costco to get $1000 in rebates? We did a tenth of that and were quite proud today.

Mr. does not have a company business card… So when he travels to Europe, he pays for his own stuff… Yikes. His co reimburses him, of course, but it takes time. Our consolation prize is the rebate he gets.

“So it can be any Visa, and not just a Costco Visa?”

Yes, I think so. You can use any Amex to pay at Costco now.

Right, but do you get the additional rebate with any Visa, or just the Costco Visa?

If your Visa has some sort of its own rewards program, you will get that reward (for us, Marriott points or Alaska miles), but not Costco rbate. :frowning: Only the 2% from Costco itself.

Drats!

Yes, we get reward points through our Visa, but we can use them for all kinds of things, and yes, we usually use them for travel. At least we’re not restricted to any one airline or hotel - the Visa is through our credit union.

But really this could all change when the AMEX to VISA change occurs, right? They could offer better/worse rebates/cash back, etc. The “official” details aren’t really available yet are they??

Costco says the rewards will continue… We shall see. It is not over until you read the actual fine print.

Just bought 2 containers of blackberries, 1 of raspberries and huge container of liquid unscented All (on coupon).

H checked out prices of computers, 3 of which are on discount till late this month–need to update one or more computers in our house.

I’m not going to worry about new terms until they are officially announced. Then I will weigh everything like everyone else.

Saw macarons in the freezer section for the first time today at a very low price. They are good.
