We just started buying their giant tubs of hummus. It’s really good & SO much cheaper than anywhere else.
One year we paid for a large chunk of DS’s bar mitzvah expenses at a hotel on the Costco Amex. Got a nice rebate that year!
Has anyone had experience of buying health insurance from Costco? Is it a lot cheaper?

I bought blueberries, raspberries, and peaches today. I’m sure they won’t be as good as the ones I got during summer. I also got two bags of kale salad. My plan is to have it every day this week for lunch, And hopefully lose a little weight.
I found an interesting new product today - frozen seared ahi tuna. Just defrost & eat. I bought some, but haven’t tried it yet. Will keep y’all posted…
I buy the individual Saba hummus’ for taking for lunch. YUM.
Fun read from my favorite blog - this woman buys many of the same things I do and she has intrigued me to buy a couple more (the pasta!)

Back to report on the frozen seared ahi tuna - it is outstanding!
Ohhh… Sounds good! Will have to check if our local Costco carries it. Thanks!
How much is a large container of Hummus?
Our new Costco opens this weekend. Still trying to decide whether to join…or not. I’m thinking I will wait for some membership offer with freebies.
Maybe I’m doing something wrong, but hummus is one of those things I don’t like to get in a huge container unless I’m having people over and expect to use it up quickly. Seems if it sits very long (even in the frig) it is less than perfect. Costco does have a few types. Sabra and a couple others. One thing that is nice is the small individual servings of hummus packages you can buy - like a dozen or something individual servings.
I like those little ones too. I find it better in general to have many small things rather than one super large one, especially if it is perishable.
We get the Oasis brand in the large tub & it’s about $5-6. DH, DD & I are all big hummus eaters & it lasts us about a week.
Just wondered…a very large tub of Sabra hummus is $5 or so at BJs.
Like I said…I’m comparing…BJs is five minutes from my house. Costco is 35 minutes away…but on DHs way home from work.
You could always try it for a year Thumper. Gas, milk, eggs, butter (actual) and bread can probably pay for the membership alone if your H stops for gas often and in the store once a month or so.
@abasket I know. But we get our eggs, milk and butter at Aldi and I seriously doubt those prices can be beaten. And gas at BJs.
I’m thinking about some of the things I know are really good at Costco…like the meat.
And they sell Gloria Vanderbilt jeans which are one of my go to brands!
Well there you go! You’ll be well stocked in Gloria V jeans in a year!!!
Sorry to repeat this (if it’s been repeated) but you said you have been in a Costco, right? I think I recall that. What you need is a two month trial membership or something.
I know…I’ve looked for a trial membership…or even a one day pass like BJs gives. We got a Costco flyer for,the new store today…but the only do pints they were giving were on the executive membership…and we are not buying that one!!
Costco does give out one day passes if you ask at the membership desk. Just bring cash, debit card or AMEX to pay. Take photos of their prices and you can compare later.
Thanks @cbreeze
