What do you do if you don't get into any SPs?

Well, I only applied to one summer program, which I probably won’t get into. Any ideas for what I should do if I don’t?

Either work or volunteer.

You could also try to take some advance classes at a university near home.

internships and paid job experience are always good. or you could do a self-study.

Self-studies ARE SO MUCH FUN! Last summer, I started a Calculus AB AP self study, volunteered 60 hours at a local hospital and worked 25 hours a week.

Bump (I’d like to know some more answers)

Okay, so far my options are:

-Work
-Internship
-Study
-Classes

I’ll probably take some City College courses, and I might get an intern. I find it difficult to self study APs during the summer because there’s so little motivation - the test isn’t for like another year - but I probably will do some MIT OCW for fun. Work - idk maybe, sounds like a waste of time (lol even if I’m getting paid).

Summer still sounds boring… Anything else?

I wanna do something that’s either fun and intellectual or that will look super good on college app (preferably both). Some random things I’m considering:
-Max out on community service (like 1500+ hrs) or possibly the equivalent in work if it is a somewhat decent job
-Make a reeally good and popular internet game (idk, would colleges care about this if I’m into computer science? Or would some boring algorithm non-game whatever be more impressive?)
-Do nothing and just accept that I’m not going to HYPSM.
-Try to become a genuis. Lol. Or at least do a bunch of self studying on different things (learn 5 languages, get 3 yrs ahead in math, learn to write gooder, etc.). Or just get extremely good in one area.

Thanks for the input so far.

Oh yeah and I did get rejected from that Summer Program so I’m p issed now. I can’t decide if I should give up or to dedicate my summer to one of the above things.

EDIT: I got nominated for Boys’ State or whatever? Anyone know anything about it? I couldn’t really find anything here on CC. It sounds cool but I kinda suck at politics and public speaking. Should I go anyway and just do nothing there, just do it for college app? Advice?
