What do you guys think about my life plan?

I am currently a 18 y/o college freshman and am going into computer science as a career. I hope to work as a software developer and after settling down and with a stable job, I would use the money I made from working and go into piloting, which is my lifelong dream job. I understand that this might be a weird life plan but the thing is that neither I or my parents can afford to pay for the training and education to become what I want so I want to wait and collect enough money to do so. What do you guys think?

Just as long as you’ll be happy enough developing software in case your piloting dream never happens. (Not that I don’t think it will, but you need to be prepared, you know?)

Hoping is not the same as doing. (not trying to be mean here just realistic and honestly trying to help) What you should be asking your self is am I trying programming? Am I trying to be a pilot? Their is no man stopping you from doing what makes you happy though since your questioning your life plan on a forum with complete strangers im guessing you really have no idea what your going to do in your life and just trying to find the simple solution to get it off your chest. Would you really want me say “yeah man that sounds like a great plan!” I dont think thats what your looking for. Tell me what are you doing NOW to getting your dream of being a pilot?

If your just going to do something hard like programming just for the money (assuming you have little or no experience or interest it) to do something your love like flying than that sounds very inefficient and will cause you a lot of issues and problems. Look at where your at, actually take time to discover your self, feel the passion, feed the passion, peruse the passion. If you dont feel the burning urge to accomplish your dream its either the wrong dream and you need to take the time to find it or your not feeding it enough.

Like most people you have no idea what you want and looking for the easiest solution to fix this major problem. There is not easy fix its going to take work and a lot of it. Look into self improvement. Read, Think, and Do. Take the time and effort to find your self and make the choice of who you want to be. Its the hardest thing you will ever do but it will also be the most valuable thing you will ever do.
