What do YOU guys think this means?

Hey guys, so my little sister is waiting for her decision anxiously and today afternoon an amount of $81 was charged to my account. I was suprrised so I looked over my bank account and it said CMU. So I thought back and noticed that during the application period, we checked the option box “For applicants living abroad” : Please check if you would like to have ur decision sent through express mail instead of regular mail.

So the thing is since I am a u.s citizen currently studying in UC San Diego, we decided to put my credit card there and thus the FEDEX charged $81 for this mail from CMU. The high cost seems to represent FAT (lol) compared to a rejection letter which might weigh much less. My sister got her USC acceptance through the DHL and that was only $16 so my sis and I are super confused. We don’t have any info on the weight or tracking number so that makes it more confusing lol.

What sign do you think this one is!! (My sister is somewhat pessimistic towards this march madness so she keeps saying it’s a super fast mail option so even a rejection letter could cost this much too)

Anyways
At least we know the decisions were sent!
Good LUCK TO EVERYBODY!!

deposit plus the mailing fees?

hmm. 81 dollars. werid cuz im pretty sure they’d send u some kind of mailing tracking thingey. just call them (FAT lol)

I would call them, since 81 dollars - are they sending their entire school over?

actually, fedex wanted to charge $76 for quite light document package to South America. The $81 charge is not beyond the realm of possibility…I opted to send myt package international express service with the USPS --only $25–what a mistake! it ended up taking 8 days, they refused to take it to the door so mother in law who is quite ill had to go wait at post office and wait in line for 1.5 hours to pick up the package (that I had sent express so she wouldn’t have to leave the house to get the package…) Next time…fedex and $76! CMU clearly knows the issues with USPS and international mail! Congratulations!
