What do you hate....that almost everyone else loves

I also hate Pretty in Pink and similar movies as well as all boxing movies starting with Rocky.

Chocolate Chip Cookies. Sickening sweet to me - I’ll take Oatmeal Raisin any day.

Oh yes, also hate Reese, Angelina, Brad and most of their movies.

Cioppino, based on how many photos of it I have seen on my FB feed this past week. I had no idea it was so popular.

Is this really something that almost everyone else loves? The way people actually behave indicates that few actually practice that.

I read the whole thread but it looks like maybe I really am the only person who hates…coconut! Hate. it.

Also hate both coffee and tea, which is kind of inconvenient.

^^Think my son hates coconut because I must have eaten so much of it when I carried him. So, two of you, at least.

The only thing I think is odd is when people say they hate TV. TV, especially today is such a diverse medium encompassing all kinds of storytelling. The long form storytelling that TV has adopted in the last decade in both comedy and drama has allowed television to do what other mediums cannot, develop a group of chapters in depth and allow that to play out over year and years. I guess some people aren’t Intersted in that but to me it’s been one of the most captivating things to happen to storytelling.

I also dislike coconut except fresh coconut.

Another vote for disliking coconut. Also don’t like vanilla in any form and vanilla candles and lotions.

@ucbalumnus - the entire capitalist project is predicated on the benefits of ever-increasing productivity. People seem pretty attached to capitalism.

As far as food goes, really only hate liver, goat cheese and beets. I used to hate Brussels sprouts until I found it was only because my mother boiled them into little mush balls. Hate massages, awards ceremonies, formal situations (dinners ,restaurants, etc.), Family Guy, when people drink too much, parties except for family celebrations, malls, dentists visits, flying in small planes, porta potties, cute quotes or sayings, when people feel a need to tell me where they went to school, Las Vegas. Wow, I got on a roll- I just generally avoid things I don’t like and all is well.

I think coconut may not have been mentioned before because it’s not a “universally” loved item. Certainly in my family it isn’t. I’m the only one that likes it.

I think this thread is meant to be for things that people would be shocked you hate—ice cream, chocolate, coffee, soda, Christmas. I doubt anyone would find a dislike for coconut as a shock.

“… porta potties …”

That’s so weird, @takeitallin, since almost everyone else loves them (see title of thread).

You are right @notelling. Got carried away. Our son told us yesterday be hates bacon and we were all truly shocked.

I wonder how some of these “hates” developed. I became a vinegar hater after running reactions in concentrated acetic acid when I was 8 months pregnant… Could not eat anything with vinegar in it for a few years! It was a real torture because I loved vinegary foods!!! Luckily for me, I finally got my love for vinegary foods back! But even now, I prefer vinegars that has other smells mixed in: balsamic, apple, rice…

I can’t believe how active this thread is. We sure hate a lot of stuff! :expressionless:

Back to topic-- I cant stand Jim Carrey’s humor and weird facial expressions. Creeps me out.

Isn’t Jim Carrey just really the modern day Jerry Lewis?

Jim Carrey is creepy.
