What Do You Love about Berkeley?

Academics, location, social life, professors, people, etc.
Why Berkeley?

DeSean Jackson.

Jeff Tedford. Marshawn Lynch. Nate Longshore (hopefully). And keep an eye on Daymeion Hughes - he should have a huge season this coming year.

Yea, I would really like to know that too.
I’m a semi-nerd who doesn’t drink or party, and so far am pretty much leaning towards CMU because of academics (aka, guaranteed major at a good CS school vs. coming here and being undeclared for 2 yrs, then having to apply for my major), and because I think? CMU would have a social atmosphere that better fits me.
(Please feel free to agree/disagree with that)

But I feel like I’m not looking at everything and that Berkeley has something to offer, that CMU doesn’t, that I should be considering…aside from weather (and possibly money), I can’t place my finger on it. So aside from err…lists of names of people I don’t know, I also would appreciate if current students would say why they like UCB.

i think CMU’s social atmosphere would better fit you also. =p (ok so i’ve never been there) I’d say pick CMU.

Nobel Laureate parking spots, location, academics, the atmosphere, the history

RIP La Vals
People watching in lower sproul

G&S - La Val’s is still alive! It’s just…alive on quiet, boring northside instead of wonderful, exciting southside…

I know, but the the la vals on durant was just so trashy and awesome. I always felt like I was in a Bukowski short story when I went there.

Yeah, I know what you mean. I also really miss the big-screen TV there…I watched a couple of really exciting games there.

Oh well. Blake’s still has a bigscreen in their dungeon.

Northside is awesome!

That guy from the Counting Crows is Adam Duritz, that nice Jewish boy with the pineapple hair.
