What do you see people bring on Move-In Day

Anything unusual interesting items that an individual never thought to bring your dorm. I’m just an incoming freshman, but Day 1 at my summer program, instead of using luggages to put in clothes, etc, this person moves in with heavy duty black trash bags. How interesting was that. My Dad and I came across of them at the parking lot. :)

I used the white draw string kitchen bags, because that was what we had in the house and it took up less room in the car than boxes. It was not entirely unusual here. I think I only saw one or two people with luggage, everyone else used plastic bins or boxes. I don’t even think I know anyone with their own set of luggage at our age.

I got harassed by housing for bringing a 4.4 cubic foot fridge, even though the limit is 5.0 something and the amperage draw is only .8 out of an allowed 1.5. So now the entire housing staff appears to know I have a “giant fridge.” When the move in helpers moved my roommates in he was like, “so YOU guys are the ones with the giant fridge!” Apparently I am now famous.

I saw a girl bring in a life sized statue of some naked guy, 100% realistic so to speak. A few months later I saw this statue again and it was no longer anatomically correct. I asked the girl what was going on and she said someone vandalized her statue. She eventually had a stone leaf put on to the statue to hide the damage.
I sometimes wonder where the missing piece went. But then again… do I really want to know?

^^

Is that a reference to the movie, “Angels and Demons?”

Apparently the Catholic Church did the same thing–hacking off the *****es of the statues–and people later replaced the stubs with stone leaves.

I used trash bags moving out haha. You could see me and my parents lugging around huge black trash bags and a luggage. Otherwise, nothing too out of the ordinary.

I brought two suitcases because I plan on traveling places with my friends spring break/next summer (not going back home except for thanksgiving and winter until I graduate). If I wasnt doing that I would have left them at home because they take up too much room. Other than that, I used laundry bags to carry my clothes. And boxes for everything else.

I think the worse thing I have seen are people trying to bring their stuff in with no bags and no boxes, just a carrying a bunch of crap in their arms.

Yes, yes it was.

Also my former roommate from my summer program, is bringing a water cooler. Its a good idea. The RAs says its a no. But he’s gonna bring it anyway.
