What do you think about listing MOOC statements of accomplishment as an EC?

I.e. completing courses from Udacity, Coursea, edX that are relevant to your major

well that’s 60 views and 0 responses. This isn’t Project Euler, I’m just trying to gather some opinions.

Sure, anything that shows you have interest in your major doesn’t hurt to put down.

I think MOOCs are too new for there to be much of a consensus on how significant statements of accomplishment might be to an admission committee of a college or university you are applying to. To me it would seem like a demonstration of passion for learning and perseverence since very few people who start a MOOC actually successfully complete it. On the other hand some might rather see time not spent in regular classes used for volunteering, sports or other non-academically oriented ECs.

I don’t know if ECs are the best place for them, but if no better place presents itself, yeah, put them in there. They should go somewhere.
