We would appreciate your responses greatly!

Tufts, Amherst, BC, UMich- A good chance. Match to high match.
The rest are reaches…but just because they are reaches to everyone.

However, none are safeties. You should have safeties too.

What are the UW GPAs?

I don’t know much about some of these colleges, but I think soontobesenior is overly optimistic about both Amherst and Tufts.

Student 1 has a reasonable chance at Tufts on the basis of her class rank, and her ACT, which is around the median for enrolled freshmen. Be aware, however, that a lot of applicants are denied or wait-listed with comparable ACT scores, or higher.

Student 2’s SATs are a problem. Her math is below the 25th percentile for enrolled Tufts students, and her CR is below the median.

[College Search - Tufts University - SAT®, AP®, CLEP®](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)

And Amherst is reachy for anybody. See this, for example: [Behind The Scenes: How Do You Get Into Amherst? : NPR](<a href=“Behind The Scenes: How Do You Get Into Amherst? : NPR”>Behind The Scenes: How Do You Get Into Amherst? : NPR).

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Really.

No, I agree actually. I just meant that they are definitely good candidates for those schools and it isn’t like they are wasting their time applying there. They could have a shot. Thats all I meant by that.

Ah, I see. When my daughter was applying to colleges, I told her, “Well, I don’t know whether you’ll actually get in everywhere, but there’s no place where they’re going to tack your application up on the bulletin board, highlight the most ridiculous parts, and say, ‘What the hell was this girl thinking?’”

You mean something like that?

Student 1: 4.0 Student 2: 3.96

What are some good safety schools with:
skiing
good english/writing program
good science
good language
