This girl didn’t even tell her boyfriend’s parents it was an experiment. They truly believed they were going to have a grandchild. She only told one of her several brothers.

I think she will be a wonderful social scientist- as she was truly interested in honest reactions- although she also is callous- which I hope will change.

I can understand why a young woman, concerned over her communities high rate of pregnancy would undertake this project.
It would not be as effective as simply interviewing pregnant teens.IMO.
WHen you are pregnant you are already at the mercy of your hormones.
Teens who are getting mixed messages from their peers and their family are also expectant parents and are trying to protect themselves. They are unlikely to be truly honest with any interviewer, because their role is to bring the baby to term as nature has designed.
Teens may be physically capable of giving birth & even somewhat up to the demands of raising another person, but even adult women who planned for the birth of a child with their partner have mixed feelings about the birth.
I cannot imagine a pregnant teen being able to give voice to her true feelings without it affecting her pregnancy and her health, although I do think that interviews would be also an important piece to the research, I can understand why she did it, especially as she is a peer, not a psychologist or sociologist.
