My Ds friend was having problems in Geometry class. She went to the teacher and asked for help. The teacher said, get your math book and lets take a look. The student pulled out the book. The teacher said, no, your geometry book. The student looked Student had been using an algebra book for the year…yep, turning in the wrong homework, but somehow managing to pass the tests. Apparently, student would sometimes do homework with other students so it was the correct work. When the teacher assigned, say page 112 4-16 even, but that didn’t match with the algerbra book, the student thought teacher had just made a mistake and would do something close. Said student was turning in homework all along, but from Algebra book!!! How does that happen? I guess math homework just wasn’t that important…

Did this just happen recently? At the END of the school year?? As somebody said, in a song, somewhere, “That really blows my mind!!!”

Yesterday…makes me kind of wonder…

To think what she could have done with the right book! Does go under the “duh” headlines, though. Maybe they should send her to reading class! How could she see Geometry on the classroom door and Algebra on the book and not say anything? Oh well, as long as your friends baiil you out…

D had a plausible explanation. In our state, texts must be covered. Did she cover her book at the beginning of the year and just not read the title?

Nope not covered…

If someone is so (fill in the blank) to not notice she was using an Algebra book instead of a Geometry book, she might not have noticed if she accidentally switched books last week. I suspect the student has been copying homework all year and lost her math book. I find that more believeable than that she wouldn’t have noticed she was using the same book she had in Algebra the year before. Maybe she should go home and check for the lost book.

That makes sense.
