what do you think, please?

damn. i don’t recall the girl asking you to be brutal. Nobody has to explain their scores to anybody. that is so lame. Her unweighted GPA is over a 3.8 and the 1910 is NOT bad. I say she has way over the 50/50 chance somebody suggested. And she said she is in top 15%, not that she is the last person to be considered top 15%. I agree with the competitive thing, I’ve never seen that as making a difference but most people seemed to be inclined to put it and so be it. In fact, I should rejoice the day I see someone say “not very competitive school” on here. Besides that, to the poster, i say you have a very good chance

Actually, the average decile for a white applicant to UVA is 1.5 (15%), at least according to the WP data done for a couple years ago. Her SAT score is a little lower than average, but UVA gives less emphasis to those than other things. She definitely isn’t ‘competitive’, but she has a decent, average shot.

However, UVA mostly admits these kinds of numbers during the ED process, where there’s more of a cutoff in the GPA (around 3.7-3.8), with less regard to other factors. Your chances would have been signficantly better for ED, but it’s not extremely difficult here. Just don’t count on it too much.

was deferred ed

thank you for the posts

Your chances for getting in after being deferred are very slim, unfortunately. Perhaps too many higher ranked people applied and got in from your school, if it’s as competitive as you say.

thanks for the imput…I hope it does work out! But good luck to EVERYONE

hey ashely, i was also deferred ed. Did u send uva anything new or extra?

the regular stuff…any other posts?
