Wondering what some people’s opinions are regarding my application. I am intelligent but my main concern is a low GPA and class rank removing me from considerations before anything else is looked at. Here are my stats:

SAT: 2210 (only taken one time: CR 760, WR 700, M 750)
SAT IIs: 730 Lit, 750 Math II
GPA: ~3.1 / 4.0 and 87.944% average
(It might be worth noting that there is an upward trend in my averages for the second half of high school. In order from freshman first semester through junior second semester, my averages were 87.500, 87.333, 87.500, 84.167, 89.667, 91.500.)
Core curriculum consists of all Gifted classes (and AP whenever available), apart from Honors English/Geography in 9th grade.
Rank: 251 / 734
ECs: Debate Team from 9th through 11th grade (my school’s team was dissolved after 11th grade due to lack of administrative support.) Varsity co-captain in 11th grade. First place district qualifier for National Speech and Debate Tournament in 11th grade, and several other miscellaneous honors. Also received/qualified for Varsity letters in all three years.
Also volunteered at local Humane Society (9th grade through 12th)
APs:
10th grade:
World History - 4
11th grade:
US History - 4
Physics B - 3
Computer Science A - 3
12th grade:
Chemistry
Calculus BC
Physics C
Macroeconomics
Government
Literature
(probably Microeconomics and possibly Comparative Government – those are not offered as classes at my school but students are given an option to attend after-school review sessions to prepare for these exams)

I would like to major in a medicinal research or engineering field (listed Biomed Engineering on my resume). I live in Georgia and for personal reasons would prefer to attend college in-state. So far I am planning to apply to Emory, Georgia Tech, Oxford at Emory, and UGA. I will probably also apply to Georgia State as a safety. Basically my long-term girlfriend, who is one year older than me, chose to go to Emory over other options so that she would be close to me and be able to visit me on weekends… so I’m sort of obligated to do the same for her. However, I haven’t really looked into a lot of out-of-state colleges, so if anyone knows one that would be a good match for me based on stats and intended major I would still like to hear about it. Thanks to anyone who takes the time to go over this.
