I want to major in business administration with a specialization in finance
the schools im looking at are:

reach:
Cornell (overall 1st choice)
UPenn

Match:
Villanova (probable 1st choice)
UVA
UNC
Northeastern

Safeties:
UConn (legacy)
Penn State

What do you guys think?

I think UNC OOS would fall more into the “reach” category than the matches. The same can be said about UVA. (UNC OOS is ridiculously hard to get into.)

However, I think all of those refereeing awards are great! It shows leadership, at least according to my teachers, especially since you excel at it as you do. That would probably be your “hook”, as the lingo on the website goes.

Sorry, but you are definitely not a safety match with Penn State University Park with a 3.4. That puts you under the average gpa for incoming freshmen. I think you should shuffle northeastern down to being a safety, move Penn State to a match, Villanova up to a low reach, and UNC/UVA up to reaches because you are out of state. Congrats on doing well on the SAT, but unfortunately at schools like PSU that is only 1/3 of the admission decision.

I think your refereeing is really good cause it helps seperate you from the crowd. It’s pretty impressive. But your academics is not. Your GPA is too low for you reach schools and for your saftey schools its about average. Also, the ppl who get into ivy league schools have usually at least 2200 on their SAT. But the rest of your ECs are good. If you could get a few more awards rather than more activities, it would be even better.
