What does a 36 on the Reading section mean to colleges?

It seems to me (from reading various posts on this board) that reading tends to be the least important/telling section. Please correct me!

it means that you are rather good at reading

it means you have endurance.

=P It’s good. What is your composite?

Urgh…31. I’m not a math person, so the math section brought down my score considerably.

I have no idea what the reading section even covers, so that’s why I posted this. Does a 36 on the reading mean I’m good at analyzing/interpreting? Or just good ol’ reading?

It means you are good at reading quickly and analyzing what you read.

reading is the easiest section to get 36 on…
2% of test takers score 36 on reading compared to les than 1% in the other areas. Your composite score is the only thing that colleges really look at for the ACT.

I think reaidng is the hardest lol

Reading, i think, is the easiest. Well, compared to SAT reading passages it is, lol.

I got a 30 on reading … O_o

i got a 28 :(

I also got a 36 reading and 31 composite. I was rather surprised at the 36. Does this mean I got all the questions correct or rather one or two wrong?

In the Real ACT Prep book, on the first test you can miss 1 and still receive a 36… so its possible that you either got them all correct, or missed one… or if the section was really hard the curve may have been two…

changes from test to test.
very rarely they give you a 1 question buffer.

I got a 35 reading and 35 English - 32 composite, got a 29 on math and 28 on science haha

Actually, a 1 question buffer on the reading section is almost the norm. Very rarely do you have to get every question right in that section to score a 36. On occasions, I think people have gotten a 36 with 2 questions wrong as well.

I’m blaming my non-36 on the fact that my thinking is too complex for ACT Inc. and that I can in fact justify multiple answers. Do you think colleges will buy that?

how much are you selling it for?

I got screwed. I got only two wrong on teh reading and got a 34 :frowning:

I went froma 29 to 34 on reading
english went 28 to 30
math went 26 to 25
science went 28 to 25

Bad luck. Hope the SAT is better now with extra time.

34 in reading…
