I’ve noticed so many girls wearing a black band made not out of plastic/glass. Probably silk/rubber or something like that.

What does it mean?

lol looked it up on google and that’s what I got.

^That’s gross. Like, seriously.

From the folks who look into “urban legends” - Attempts to verify the rumor by talking to real, live teenagers yielded only “hoots of derision and more than a few ‘yucks,’” according to one Chicago Tribune article. When a marketing firm called Teenage Research Unlimited asked a group of approximately 300 teenagers if they were aware of any sexual implications attached to wearing jelly bracelets they got vague, ambiguous answers. “They knew of a friend who had a friend who had a friend who knew about this,” a spokesperson for the firm told the Associated Press. “But no one could point a finger to anyone who was actually doing this.” Basically the same comment from Folklorist Barbara Mikkelson. First answer one finds is not always the only.

^^Wanna know what’s grosser? 12 and 13 year olds wearing them. Those were really common when I was in middle school and there were a variety of colors depending on the…ahem…favor. It was such a big deal that the principal banned them from school property and threatened to suspend anyone he saw wearing them.

It was gross.

It means they have bubonic plague.

I need to stop clicking on links on this thread…

facepalm

WOW…there is so much wrong with this thread…

I think I barfed a little.

lol gets worse and worse :D

OMG vomit.

hmmm… sounds tasty… :D

Some people wear them because they like the look. Others… earn them I guess. Sexual favors for 10 cent bracelets, seems reasonable.

A black band doesn’t have to mean THAT. A lot of metalheads and…punk too sometimes…wear black bands on their wrist. If you look at any hard rock or metal band they have black wrist bands on. I used to be in a metal band and it was a thing we decided to do after watching other bands. It doesn’t have a meaning; just trying to look cool. By the way: screamo does NOT equal metal.

god I hate screamo
