what does a certain SAT score mean?

what does 1500 mean? (A, B, C, )
what does 2200 mean? (A+?

what SAT score do i need to get in order to get into johns hopkins?

SAT scores can’t be readily translated into grades. Your score has to be evaluated against the rest of the applicant pool when you’re applying to a particular school. According to College Board’s College Search website ([College Search - Johns Hopkins University - Hopkins - SAT®, AP®, CLEP®](<a href=“College Search - BigFuture | College Board”>College Search - BigFuture | College Board)), Johns Hopkins middle 50% of students admitted scored:

CR: 630-740
M: 660-770
W: 640-740

You should try to meet or exceed the lower score (the 25th percentile) in order to be somewhat competitive for Johns Hopkins. However, there is no required score, per se, because admissions officers usually consider a host of other factors along with standardized test scores (grades, ECs, essays, etc.).

I would say 2200 = A+
2000 = A
1800 = B
1600 = C
1400 = D
1200 = F
or something like that. But it doesn’t really mean anything anyways (as a letter grade)

While I don’t believe that SAT scores can be readily translated into grades, if you go by percentages, it’d be:

A+ : 2330+
A : 2150
B : 1900
C : 1670
D : 1440
F : <1400

I figured it’d be a little more generous to do the cut-off at .5% under the normal grade. So 89.5% for an A, etc.

For sections:
A+ : 770+
A : 700
B : 630
C : 560
D : 470
F : <450

The “D” and “F” grades seem a little unfair though, because a LOT of people get these…Idk. Maybe you could get a bell curve and base it off of that :P
