What does AP World Cover for AP Art History?

I recently started studying for AP Art History and found out that I know VERY little actual history outside of the US and Europe. So I’m trying to see If an AP World review book would help me patch up my history knowledge. I’m specifically looking for information on the Classics (Roman, Greek, Byzantine, and Mesopotamian History) and World History outside of Europe and the US (Asia, Pre-Columbian America, Africa, and Australia and the Pacific). I know AP World will of course have a large amount of material on Europe and the US, but will a review book be enough to at least give me the basics on the material I need to learn? If so which review book would you recommend?

I took AP Art History and AP World, but I didn’t feel I needed to know that much world history for the AP Art History exam. The history helped a little with the trends on how art is changing with the times, but I sure a art history textbook will review this. The art history test is more on analyzing art and trends in art, not to much of the non-art history.

Ok thanks agenthunderfire. It’s a long story but here goes. I contacted a teacher about studying APAH by myself in May and he said he would help. He said to go and learn Classical history over the summer and keep in contact and we’ll learn from there. I know this teacher pretty well and I think we got along pretty well too. Only he never responded back, I even called his house and his wife answered no response. I had this teacher freshman year and he’s the type to do things to test students. I honestly think he didn’t respond to see what I would do and see how committed I was (this is sounding crazy I know). I’ve started reading from and art history text book (gosh it’s long) but I truly think that he is testing me to see if I would learn it on my own. I’m wondering if just and AP World review book would be enough to at least cover the basics because I can’t seem to find a good classical history text book anywhere. (this is sounding REALLY crazy I know but more input would be great)… :|

Yah the AP World review book should be fine. As regards to your teacher, maybe he would like the summer off and have no contact with any students? Not exactly sure since I don’t know your teacher.

ok. Thanks alot! agenthunderfire!
