What does "c" mean after the name of a college course?

I am going to community college and want to transfer to UCF after. However, one of the required courses I have to take to transfer into their engineering program is PHY 2048C Physics for Engineers &Scientists I. My community college offers the course, but on their page, it says PHY 2048 Physics for Engineers &Scientists I. Same as the one on the UCF website but without the c.

If I take the course PHY 2048 at my community college, with it transfer as credit for the PHY 2048C course required? There are other CPP courses for engineering offered at my community college that I would rather take there as it’s cheaper but they all have an additional c attached to the end.

If the PHY 2048 course will not transfer over, I cannot get accepted into their engineering program. Will that mean I will have to transfer with an AA/60 credits, take the course there at UCF, and then apply for their engineering program?

C means that besides having lectures, there is also a laboratory session as part of the course. You need both the lecture course and lab. Check the community college course to see if it has a lab. If it does you have the equivalent course, if it does not check to see if the applicable lab session is a separate course number that you can also take; if it is separate, it would likely have the same 2048 course number but with an L after the number.

Sadly, I can’t find any course that includes a lab section for the specific course. So, I suppose that means I should earn my AA or 60 credits and then transfer to UCF and take these courses with their respective labs?
