what does "Does this award require my current major" mean?

Paying for College

The Miami University notified me that I will receive scholarship. It states the following:

scholarship Name: International Education Scholarship
Is this award renewable? yes
Number of semesters after 2014-15 6

Does this award require my current major? No

Can someone tell me what does “Does this award require my current major” mean?
I am not currently attending any college or university.

This is simply saying that the award is not tied to your college major. If you want to confirm this, call the school and ask.

For example, if the award was for ‘international engineering’, it might require you to remain an engineer to continue getting the scholarship. Since your award is not tied to a major, you can change majors.
