What does it mean to be a James Scholar?

<p>I am going to UIUC next year for chemical engineering and was informed a couple months ago that I was also accepted into the James Scholar program. The information I have received about it has not really made clear what exactly it is. Can anybody help clarify? Thanks!</p>
