What does it mean to be wildly creative? on the supp essay

on the supp optional essay?

anyone wanna give me any ideas?

nope. =P write about whatever you want.

Creativity is like a beauty contest. Some like high cheekbones. Some prefer robust cheeks.

It’s all in the eye of the reader.

Whoever thinks up these idiot exercises is mostly that, imo. But an intellectual idiot. And Bucknell, while a spectacular place, is really lost in this silliness. It’s what comes from not being happy with just being a great school in an idyllic college town. Wannabe something else and struggling to be perceived as Harvard on the Susquehanna. Sorta sad and pathetic in some respects.

We went to a briefing there and had a 40ish Admission Counselor who didn’t know squat about the University. But he didn’t need to as his territory was Paris and London. Illusions of something there.

And one latent brain fart … Isn’t it ironic, interesting, or something … that Bucknell, which beckons and hopes to foster creativity among its students, exhibits virtually none of it in its staff and their presentation?

Oh, btw, if any of you have been to BU, the mass session is done in an auditorium style room in which the Admissions dude stands in front of his PPoint, and doesn’t keep in sync with it. Amazing that they clearly exempt themselves from that which they expect from mine and yours.

Sadly, they’re not alone in this approach. So in the meantime, it’s “do what we say, not what we do.” Sort of like a low level hazing except that candidates enamoured with a particular place find themselves called to do a rapper jig or cirque du solet (or however it’s spelled?) to a tune sorta like the 1950’s style Mills Brothers version of “Glow Little Glow Worm.” No easy feat.

Or is it feet? Go figure. Keep dancing.

thats deep
