What does it mean when someone says "A/A" or "B-/B"?

Is it unweighted/weighted?

Or…
if you are imputing grades electronically for a college and they are asking for your “Term 1” and “Term 2” grades but your school gives your grades on a quarter basis, how should you input it? Do you put it as, say, B+/A (for Q1/Q2)?

Bump 10char.

A/A and A/B+ means that the semester grades for a year long high school course were A and A or A and B+. In Florida, public schools report semester grades independently with no final grade.

For quarters you would report one grade only if a final grade is calculated; or 3 grades, one for each quarter (given that there are generally three quarters in a school year and one quarter per summer term for four in a year.) Given most of the setups for reporting grades are on the semester system, most are reporting either one final grade or two semester grades.

I’m still a bit confused. My school goes by a four quarter system, an independent final exam grade (50% of our final grade), and all the quarters + exam combine to make a final grade.

But this college app is asking me to input my “Term 1” and “Term 2” grades. So if, say, I had a B for Q1 and an A for Q2, I should designate my Term 1 grades as B/A?

when my daughter ran into this two years ago, she just put down the final grade twice…term 1 is not a quarter grade, but rather a semester…since you are self reporting, you could average the two quarters if you prefer IMO…

Wait… Some colleges let you self-report your grades? How do they prevent liars from just putting down straight As?

Most schools give two separate semester grades. I guess that you can just input the final grade twice; although I would call the school.

saugus: some schools ask for self-reported grades which they then verify with your official transcript when received…

My final grade is signifiacantly higher than my quarter grades (final exam makes up a huge portion of my grade and my exam grades are always excellent)

Do you think colleges would find this suspicious? I’m worried about how they’ll perceive my application. Example: I have quite a few quarter grades that are in the C+ range, but my final grades are often A’s because the final exam boosts the grade. The exams are easier than the classes…

I’ll call them tomorrow, I think tonight is a bit too late!
