I am an African american female that has 2 siblings and I will be the first out of them that will be attending college. My household income is 110000. My parents don’t make enough to put me through college. I have written essays that are about a page long. How can I make myself stand out? Are they going to read all of my essays? do I have a chance in winning the scholarship?
The essays are all important. Indeed, they are the single most important element of your application. Recommendations and nominations come second. Talk about what makes you different: your dreams, aspirations, challenges. What you have done that has been exceptional. Note however that you MUST qualify for a PELL Grant (be low income) or you will be disqualified. There is no way around the income requirement and they will ask for your FAFSA.
