What does my letter from Dean say(rejected/reappeal)?

I got this letter from dean, Undergraduate Admissions, University of Southern California.

It says we are sorry as we do not have room for THIS year. I got another brown sheet along with my letter which had all the details on how to apply for appealing. Is this some kind of way of telling students smoothly that you are a dumb ass and couldn't make it USC? lol or did they mean, kid you were very close but you din't have enough stones to crack the pot?

I digged lil internet on this issue and found one Graduate rejection letter of some anoinymous applicant, it is utterly succinct and clearly mentions the rejection.

Please go through the above two letters and let me know what you feel....

Thanks in Advance

I think that different people from different departments wrote those letters. The differences reflect their styles, in my opinion. The first one seemed to try to let you down very gently. It's a rejection, and I personally would not read more into it than that.
