Hello I recently received a letter regarding my financial awardfrom a school that i was accepted to, and said “Your tentative award eligibility is…” and this is followed by some figures. What does this exactly mean?

You do not have a finalized award letter. Your aid could change once everything is finalized.

It might be tentative until they confirm all your information. For example, if you have siblings in college (which reduces your EFC), they may ask for verification of enrollment of the other siblings. They may also select you for verification, and you and/or your parents may have to provide copies of tax returns. If you have merit aid, they may want to see your final HS grades.
