What does the section number stand for..

CCJ 4014

does the 4014 mean its a higher level class? as a freshman am i suppose to pick from the 2000…

It means it a higher level class within the concentration/major. You don’t have to be a upperclassman to take them. I took 4000 psychology and anthropology class during my 1st year. The might be a different story if you are taking a 4000/5000 level chemistry or math class.

In theory it is suppose to mean upper level, but often they don’t. For example honors first year florida is a 4000 level class. If you meet the requirements, it doesn’t matter what the number is.

Also that’s the course number, not the section number.

its criminology… do you think there are pre-reqs or can i take the class?

Check the course catalog to see if there’s any pre-reqs. Here’s the link for criminology courses [Office of the University Registrar](http://www.registrar.ufl.edu/catalog/programs/courses/sociology.html)

I could be wrong, but I think most upper-level criminology courses are restricted for criminology majors only.
